We sold Oreo, much to our grand children’s dismay, they all loved her. She is one of those horses that even the youngest and most inexperienced rider’s trusted. Oreo was able to make each of them comfortable while she taught them the love of horseback riding.
Occasionally, I wondered if Oreo enjoyed the grandchildren riding her simply because they didn’t expect so much. They were thrilled just to be able to ride around the arena. I think as we become adults we forget to enjoy the simpler things in life. We need our grandchildren to remind us of how much fun it is to saddle up, hit the trail and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.
We really liked the family who bought Oreo, which made selling her much easier. We’ve already received pictures of her making friends with their other horses. My husband and I are really going to miss that horse. She turned out to be one of the best rope horses he ever had as well as an awesome trail horse.
