Today’s family research trip failed but….

Our trip to Morganton, Nc Genealogical Family Research Library failed to find the connection needed to identify Hubby’s 5x Grandmother. But we did learn a few new things regarding researching mid 1700 and early 1800 marriages. They are not always married, they are bonded, meaning awaiting marriage certificate. Many of them never received an actual marriage certificate. Their research library is in a beautiful old building, photo above, that is the towns library. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch with hubby at one of his favorite restaurants, Abeles Restaurant. Then discovered a cute little town, Valdese, that we want to go back and visit just for fun and historical interest.
