Our Day started with Cowboy Church Sunday morning

Hubby and I started our “Father’s” day by going to a pancake breakfast at the Polkville Baptist Church Arena. After breakfast we attended the most unusual Cowboy-Church we’ve ever witnessed.   Professional Bull Rider (PBR) Todd Pierce is a Pastor of his non-denominational Christian Church. We watched him take a spoiled horse, who has been haltered, and led but not saddled to one he could ride. He did all this while he told the story of how we, Christians, are much like this horse, who is not yet confident in trusting her trainer. Although, we know and understand what Christianity is; we believe, we trust, we pray, but we are not putting God first in our daily life. Just like the horse, we do what we want to do, we don’t put what the trainer needs us to do first. First we/she bucks and throws a fit then she gives in and lets him saddle her, then she bucks and throws a fit then she lets him ride her, same with bridling, then all of a sudden she accepts that he won’t hurt her and begins to trust him. Just as we do with our savior. The similarity between the two scenarios was surprisingly clear. His sermon was both inspiring and invigorating.  To me the horse has always been God’s most beautiful creation.  Now they just seem more beautiful than ever.
