Yep, we did it again. Packed everything up that is … getting ready to move again. Although, we really like North Carolina, we miss our family much more than we can bear. That said, we will be heading west once our house closes escrow. It’s due to close, tomorrow, September 14th at 10:30 am.
Neither of us realized how difficult it would be to live this far away from our family. We’ve learned being more than an few hours drive is just to too far for us. We knew we would visit at Christmas, and possibly a few more times during the year and that the our family would visit us here in NC. What we didn’t expect was how much we would miss being with the family. Missing out on Birthday parties, working on crafts together, sewing, attending 4H meetings, ball games, karate, rodeo, hunting and target shooting, riding horses, BBQ’s as well as those family day trips. It was a combination of those little things and the family celebrations combined that made the distance just too tough to endure… our hearts were missing our family way too much.
We’ve enjoyed our time here in the South East. We have visited many historical sites and learned additional information regarding our country’s history. We have visited many places and gained an endearing affection for Southern Culture. The one thing we can say for sure is its been wonderful to be a recipient of Southern Hospitality. We’ve made many new friends with whom there is no doubt we will be staying in touch. It’s tough saying good-bye to both new and old friends.
We’ve enjoyed the beautiful scenery and I have personally enjoyed watching the Fire Flies (aka magical night fairies) that twinkle as they dance along the side of the roads and off through the woods each evening. Who, I am most certain, hide under those beautiful mushrooms I’ve had the opportunity to photograph. We’ll miss NC of that I’m sure, but it will not compare to how much we’ve missed our family.
