Heading West…day one ~ half day

This morning we loaded the last of our belongings into our trailer. Then headed off to the attorney’s office – to sign documents to close our house sale. That’s how it’s done here in NC. You don’t go to an Escrow office. Which is actually quite nice, you go the attorney’s office, sign the papers, the attorney walks across the street to the court-house and processes the documents and 20 minutes later he issues you a check! Very nice!
We headed back to the house hooked up the trailers and said a teary good-bye (me..not hubby) to all our newly found neighbors and friends.
We drove as far as Monterey, a cute little town, in Tennessee where we had dinner at a little Mom and Pop restaurant, great food! Now we’re going to relax, get a good nights rest then we’ll continue our journey west in the morning.
