It didn’t take us long to reach Oklahoma this morning. It was a bitter-sweet drive. Driving down the interstate we recognized many city names that Hubby’s Father often talked about: Henryetta, Sallisaw, McAlester, as well as many others. Both Hubby’s Father and Mother’s families are from Oklahoma.
It seem to take us too long to get through Oklahoma as there were so many memories to recant. As we entered Texas we were and always seem to be in awe of its vastness. We did stop and have dinner before heading to New Mexico.
We reached our goal arriving in New Mexico in time to get a hotel room early enough that we were able to use the pool. We were able to swim for about an hour before the pool closed. Today was a good day no flats or other problems. (knock on wood)
tomorrow we head for Kingman, Arizona and depending on traffic we might make it all the way to Nevada…but it’s probably not likely. It’s been a really long day so I’m signing off early.
